Chapter Presidents – Fantasy Baseball, General, History, Misc.

Last, but certainly not least, we have our remaining six Chapters. Each of these Chapters and their respective members have blogs that discuss the game from a non-team specific standpoint. Some cover targeted aspects on the game – such as the History Chapter or Fantasy Baseball Chapter – while others cover the game as a whole – our General Chapter.

General Chapter – William, The Flagrant Fan

William J. Tasker has written for his site, The Flagrant Fan, since 2003 and has already logged almost 2,400 posts to date. The site is featured on Yardbarker and ten of his posts have been featured on the front page of Foxsports.com’s MLB page.

After creating and heading the customer service arm of a start up software company for fifteen years, Tasker now has his own start up business, Monkey Publishing. He is a former winner of the University of Maine system Writer of the Year Award.

Tasker lives in Aroostook County in the upper reaches of northern Maine. He is happily married with two children and two step children. His passions include, golfing, gardening, reading and of course, baseball.

History Chapter – Arne, Misc. Baseball

I run a blog, Misc. Baseball (http://miscbaseball.wordpress.com), that focuses on reprinting various news stories and images from baseball’s past that are significant or, at least to my mind, intriguing and worthy of note. The blog ranges in time from the start of pro baseball into the 2010s, and tries to bring to light some neglected topics in baseball history. But it also covers famous and notorious issues, such as the Juan Marichal-Johnny Roseboro fracas and the suicide of beloved ex-umpire Ron Luciano. I also have a website, 1995 Mariners (http://1995mariners.com), describing the impact the Mariners’ 1995 season had on baseball in Seattle and the Northwest.

Other Chapter – Gary, Victoria Seals Baseball Blog

Gary Belleville was born in Ottawa, Canada and graduated from the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics and a Computer Science major. Gary stubbornly continues to be a Montreal Expos fanatic in spite of their demise in 2004 and he holds out hope that he will see the day when “Nos Amours” finally return. Unable to truly cheer for any other MLB team, Gary now roots the 28 teams not named the Yankees or Red Sox and dreams of an MLB hard salary cap. In addition to being President of Other Baseball Chapter of the Baseball Bloggers Alliance, Gary is also a member of the Society for American Baseball Research. He currently resides in Victoria, British Columbia and spends much of his leisure time playing oldtimers’ hockey. He has also been a volunteer Big Brother with Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Victoria since 1992.
