Chicago White Sox In Desperate Need Of An Outfielder; Could Jay Bruce Be A Fit?
The Chicago White Sox started the year as one of the hottest teams in baseball, but they are sharply declining. In their last 10 games, they are 3-7 and they now find themselves in third place in the American League Central. If the White Sox want to compete in this very tough division, they are going to need to add an impact bat near the trade deadline.
The White Sox are currently ranked 21st overall in run production, and a big part of that is because of their lack of power production. They have hit 49 home runs this year, which ranks as the 24th overall team in Major League Baseball. For that reason, they must trade for a power bat near the deadline to stay afloat in the American League Central.

Jackie Bradley Jr. Extends His Hit Streak To 27 Games
Jackie Bradley Jr. has been a man on a mission over the last 27 games. In that timespan, he has a hit in every game and he has raised his batting average from .222 to .342. He now owns the longest hit streak of the 2016 season, but it doesn’t look like it will stop anytime soon.
Bradley’s pitch recognition and consistent contact has been in a league of its own over the last month. During that month, Bradley is batting .420, with seven home runs, 26 RBIs, 16 runs, and a .505 OBP. For crying out loud, this guy is getting on base over 50% of the time. Coming from a career .236 batter, I don’t think anyone expected this kind of success from Bradley, but he is proving everyone wrong.

TRADE RUMOR: Will The Los Angeles Angels Trade Mike Trout?
As of right now, the Angels only have 3 starting pitchers listed on their depth chart (Jared Weaver, Hector Santiago, and Nick Tropeano). This team is falling apart and it could be time to make a drastic move. They are currently 13-18, but they are expected to continue to drop in the standings considering their team can’t stay healthy. Just to make matters worse, their farm system is widely considered to be the worst minor league system in baseball. With that said, is it time for the Angels to consider trading Mike Trout to restock their farm system and focus on building their team for the future?

Houston, We Have A Problem and His Name Is Carlos Gomez
Last year the Houston Astros traded for Carlos Gomez with the hopes that he would bolster their offense for a playoff push. This trade included top prospects, Brett Phillips, Domingo Santana, Josh Hader, and Adrian Houser for Carlos Gomez and Mike Fiers on July 30th, 2015. Since that date, Carlos Gomez has done nothing but disappoint Astros fans. You can’t blame the Astros’ front office for this move considering Gomez was a star prior to his arrival in Houston.
Before joining the Astros, Gomez spent six years with the Milwaukee Brewers. In his last three seasons with the Brewers, he had a .276 BA, 66 home runs (22 per season), 197 RBIs (65 per season), 247 runs (82 per season), and 111 stolen bases (37 per season). Since joining the Astros, he has played 68 games, with a .228 BA, 4 home runs (average of 9 per season), 17 RBIs (average of 40 per season), 25 runs (average of 60 per season), and 12 stolen bases (average of 29 per season). Since the start of 2016, he is striking out 33% of the time and only walking 3.9% of the time, compared to a career strikeout rate of 22.7% and a walk rate of 5.7%. Based on these frightening statistics, it could be time for the Houston Astros to bench Gomez or even send him packing.

Aaron Hicks recorded the fastest throw in StatCast history at 105 MPH and Yasiel Puig barehanded a ball and skipped the cut off man to throw out Trevor Story at third base. WATCH: New York Yankees’ Outfielder, Aaron Hicks, Throws A Ball 105.5 MPH To Home Plate For The Out
In case you haven’t seen or felt the breeze from this throw, New York Yankees’ outfielder, Aaron Hicks, gunned a runner out at home plate tonight by throwing the ball 105.5 MPH. This is the fastest recorded throw by MLB Statcast in baseball history. The previous high was by Houston Astros’ outfielder, Carlos Gomez, at 103.1 MPH. Not only was the velocity of this throw impressive, but it was right on the money to tag Danny Valencia out at home to save a run. While this throw did save a run, it wasn’t enough as the New York Yankees lost to the Oakland A’s, 5-2.
