Noah Syndergaard- Thor has absolutely dominated the Cardinals in the 1 start he had against them. He held them to a .067 BA (1 for 15) with 5 strikeouts and 4 groundouts. He is the best pitcher on the slate in my eyes tonight even more than the most expensive pitchers in Arrieta and Pomeranz. We are projecting Thor around 45- 50 FP tonight.
Jake Arrieta- He is facing the White Sox who have really come down from earth since the beginning of the season. The White Sox are 2 games under .500 while the cubs are 21 games above. Arrieta has held the White Sox to a .217 BA (18 for 83) with a 20.9 K% and a 5.5 W%. He’s struck out 19 while giving up only 2 HRs and one triple. I like Syndergaard more but you can’t go wrong here either.
MID RANGE
Aaron Sanchez- He hasn’t faced the Padres much but he’s held them to 1 hit in 8 ABs. This includes 3 groundouts, 1 single and 1 strikeout. Sanchez comes in with 125 IP, 37 walks, 110 hits allowed, 108 Ks, a 2.87 BA and 10 wins. In his last 10 starts, Sanchez has 6 50+ FP games on FD and tonight could be another one of those games.
Jake Peavy- I think this could be more of a sneaky play but like him as a cheap tournament option tonight. Peavy has held the Reds to a lifetime BA of .250 (19 for 76) with a 30 K% and only a 3.8 W%. He’s struck out 24 while allowing only 4 HRs. He’s a cheap option to help pay up at other positions.
VALUE
Dallas Keuchel- Now this does worry me some as Keuchel is sporting a 4.70 ERA this season but he has dominated the Yankees in the past. Keuchel has held them to a .211 BA (24 for 114) with a 27.6 K% and 34 Ks to only 3 HRs. Keuchel has 126 IP with 110 Ks and 40 walks but he’s also given up 132 hits. I’m not sure if last season was a fluke but I think he’s only a GPP option tonight.
Jeremy Hellickson- He’s held the Marlins to a .209 BA (31 for 148) with a 16.2 K% and only a 3.2 W%. He’s struck out 25 Marlins while walking only 5. He’s coming off a start last week against this same team where he pitched for 8 innings, a 3.84 ERA, picking up the win and 57 FP on Fanduel. I like him again tonight against this team that we suggested him last week.

New York Mets Must Improve in These 6 Areas in the 2nd Half
Manager Terry Collins and his New York Mets had to deal with what many viewed as a potentially season-defining 11-game homestand prior to the All Star break. On the surface, they succeeded by going 7-4 against the Chicago Cubs, Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals.
However, it was likely one of the most frustrating 7-4 homestands fans will ever experience because New York missed a golden opportunity.
The importance of this stretch prior to baseball’s midseason break was only magnified because the Mets arrived at Citi Field fresh off losing five of seven to the Nats and Atlanta Braves. The pitching staff continued to do their job for the most part, but it was the offense that resembled the 2015 squad before acquiring Yoenis Cespedes, not after.
This group then came alive by sweeping a four-game set against the Cubs, followed by taking two of three from the Marlins. Things continued looking up on Thursday, as New York battled back with the help of Wilmer Flores to win the series opener against Washington.
Those good feelings faded quickly as Stephen Strasburg, Max Scherzer and Daniel Murphy displayed why they’re All-Stars this year en route to the Nats winning three straight, building their NL East lead to six games.
Finishing the first half with a 47-41 record isn’t bad considering what New York has dealt with since April, but they must improve in these areas if they want to return to the playoffs this October:
5 Perfect Examples Why the National League Should Never Welcome the Designated Hitter
It’s impossible to not hear the chatter. There’s more than a decent chance that one day, we won’t be able to use the #PitchersWhoRake hashtag whenever we see a hurler provide some unexpected offense.
Commissioner Rob Manfred said over the winter that the National League isn’t making any big moves toward adding the designated hitter yet. However, it makes sense as to why some team owners are warming to the idea. Sure, having a DH means adding more payroll, but it also means more offense, which could in turn lead to more revenue.
Since I grew up watching NL baseball, I’m very much against changing something that’s been the same since what feels like the beginning of time. Instead of listing a bunch of reasons why – that we’ve probably all heard a million times already – I’m going to illustrate one really good reason with five different examples to make my point.
How so? Well, let’s look at the play we all love so much when it happens, but would never get to enjoy again if the DH invades the NL: the pitcher home run.
Noah Syndergaard Never Forgets, but MLB Does
Last night after throwing behind Chase Utley, Syndergaard solidified his place in Mets lore as one of the most demagogue players to wear orange and blue. I’d like to think that if this were 1986, this Texas native could have easily donned a t-shirt that read, “Don’t F— With Me” and fit right in to the brash and ego driven team that eventually won the World Series.
Months after that fateful night in October, when Utley was a complete tool and broke Tejada’s leg, Noah Syndergaard sent a message that he will never forget any action taken against his fellow teammates. After much discussion in the media and amongst fans on Twitter, Syndergaard set the record straight and his message was sent loud and clear. Unfortunately for the Mets, he was promptly ejected by young 33 year old umpire Adam Hamari for a pitch that was clearly behind Utley and in no way going to harm the Dodgers second baseman.

Well, the Mets finally sent their message of revenge to Chase Utley and it ended in the ejection of Noah Syndergaard. In 2015, Chase Utley attempted a late and dirty slide into second base that resulted in the New York Mets’ second baseman, Ruben Tejada, breaking his leg.
Noah Syndergaard decided to start the third inning by throwing behind Utley. The home plate umpire immediately ejected Syndergaard and Mets’ manager, Terry Collins, lost his mind. To see the video of Syndergaard throwing behind Utley, see the link below:
Daily Fantasy MLB DFS Picks For DraftKings 5/28/16
P- Zack Greinke (vs. San Diego Padres): The Padres’ offense has been one of the worst in Major League Baseball all year long. Not only have they struggled this year, but they have struggled against Greinke every time he stepped on the mound. In 178 career at bats against Greinke, the Padres’ batters are batting a cool .191, with one home run, eight RBIs, 44 strikeouts, and a .237 OBP.
Greinke has struggled at some points in 2016, but he has been very good in his last two games, which were against the New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals. Greinke has thrown one game against the Padres this year, in which he threw 7.1 innings, giving up six hits, two earned runs, one walk, and five strikeouts.
P- Wade Miley (vs. Minnesota Twins): $9,100. In Miley’s last six starts, he is 5-0 with a 3.12 ERA. So far this season, he hasn’t had a noticeable “easy” matchup, so it should be nice to face a struggling Twins’ offense.
The Minnesota Twins have by far the worst offensive stats against left-handed pitchers this season out of all Major League Baseball teams. In 263 at bats against lefties, they are hitting a whopping .209 (last in MLB), 21 runs (last in MLB, and a .285 OBP. Well folks, we are in luck because Wade Miley does in fact throw with his left arm.

The Reasons Why Stephen Strasburg Is A Top-Five Pitcher In Baseball
Stephen Strasburg is a completely different and much more dominant pitcher this season. In 2015, Strasburg struggled with injuries. This led to an 11-7 record, 3.46 ERA, 155 strikeouts, 26 walks, and a 2.81 FIP in 127.1 innings. So far in 2016, Strasburg is 8-0, with a 2.79 ERA, 86 strikeouts, 18 walks, and a 2.29 FIP in 67.2 innings. Something has clicked and Strasburg is thriving in 2016.
Strasburg’s elite strikeout rate is what propels him to a top-five starting pitcher in fantasy baseball. He is averaging 11.44 strikeouts per nine innings in 2016. On top of his strikeout rate, he is also limiting his earned runs, but his FIP suggests that his ERA should reduce even more.
