Projected Top 5 Home Run Hitters In Major League Baseball For 2016

Giancarlo Stanton should contend for the NL HR championship crown in 2016. He is capable of cracking 40 - 50 HRs if he can play a year completely healthy. The Marlins are lucky to have one of the best young hitters in the game on offense, and to also have Jose Fernandez as their #1 Pitcher. Finances dictate the club will only be able to secure one long term - and Fernandez has more years left of team control, and is going to cost the team less cash. Giancarlo Stanton should contend for the NL HR championship crown in 2016. He is capable of cracking 40 – 50 HRs if he can play a year completely healthy. The Marlins are lucky to have one of the best young hitters in the game on offense.  We will predict he will lead the overall MLB as well.  Stanton cracked 27 HRs in just 74 Games Played in 2015 before a broken hand derailed his last three months of the season.

Bull Durham and Ball Four are among the most well known, but the beauty is that since they are all told from a unique perspective, there’s always a fresh set of stories and experiences to share. One of the most recent is Playing with Tigers: A Minor League Chronicle of the Sixties (University of Nebraska Press) by George Gmelch.

Adam LaRoche’s retirement is a fishy tale

I guess that you all have heard about the retirement of Chicago White Sox’ DH Adam Laroche. Some hazy stories surrounds this sudden retirement. Both parties, the White Sox and LaRoche tell a version of the story that doesn’t quite match the other.

In 2015, Adam Laroche signed a two year deal with the White Sox worth $25 million. LaRoche wasn’t quite successful as he only hit .207. This year he would cash in $13 million if not something had happened.
