Vote For The Detroit Tigers Hall of Fame ; Pre-60’s Vote (POLL)

detroit tigers2Well, we know where the BBWAA sits on players like Alan Trammell and Jack Morris, but what if the Tigers had a Hall of Fame? Who would be in it? Below is a vote where you can only select 10 players over a half century of Tiger baseball, so would it be? Adding a couple other parameters to be eligible, the player must have played at least 5 years in Detroit and/or one third or more of their career in the D. To make the Tigers Hall of Fame, a player must accumulate 75% of the vote.

We’ll eliminate the easy choices of players that are already in the Major League Hall of Fame as they should be shoe-ins. With that, current Detroit Tigers Hall of Famers include:

Ty Cobb, Sam Crawford, Charlie Gehringer, Hank Greenberg, Harry Heilmann, Al Kaline,George Kell, Jim Bunning, and Hal Newhouser

The first vote consists of players who played in Detroit between 1901 and 1959. They include:
