Odds To Win The 2016 World Series

I agree that the recent signing of Johnny Cueto and the Dodgers failing to ink Hisashi Iwakuma leveled the playing field in the NL West, and might even slightly favor San Fran right now, but for the Giants to vault other teams that far up the chain is not right. The 2nd best odd on the board should not be from the NL West. The Mets, Nationals, Royals, Blue Jays and Red Sox all deserve to be slightly favored over the Giants. As such, they go from the best odd from last week, to the worst value play this week.

Just like we outlined here last week – the San Francisco Giants at +1600 was the best odd on the board.  They jumped all the way from +1600 to +900 in just 7 days.

Conversely we said that the Dodgers were not a great wager at +1200. and they dropped to +1500, which is now tied for 10th with the Diamondbacks, Pirates and Rangers for the best odds.

Chicago finally broke the stalemate with the Toronto Blue Jays atop the list, going from +800 to +750.  The Jays fell into a tie with the Boston Red Sox at +1000 and a tie for 3rd overall behind Chicago and San Francisco in the National League.

We also said to stay off the Rangers and Pirates, and both shifted downwards.  We continue to like the Yankees at +2000, even though they didn’t change from last weeks odd.

Baltimore did go from +4500 to +5000 over the last week.

The Cardinals took the hit with some cabbage bet on the Cubs, and at are at +1200.

The Mets also are the best odd they have been at for the whole winter.

With the radical change of the Giants and the Dodgers, I am flipping the script from last time. I call the Dodgers at +`1500 great value as of this minute. San Fran also has no business being the 2nd best favorite in the National League. I fully expect the dodgers to allocate some funds for the cause eventually here. If you listened ti my advice after the season ended, than you are way up in the game, as Los Angeles was once a +650 overall MLB favorite. Now is the time to bet on them if you are going to. They are the best bet on the board as of right now. Wager before the brigade comes in.

Washington and the New York Mets should still be slated ahead of them with regards to top bets.

I still like the Tigers at +2200 on the board.  Primarily because the rest of the Division has not really improved themselves that much this winter.

The White Sox at +3300 with the Twins are also providing a decent bang for your buck.  Chicago was at +4000 before the Todd Frazier move.

Milwaukee continues their descent down the rankings and it is with good reason.  Cincinnati also dropped from +9000 to +10000

I am not sure the Indians are that bad either.  In fact, I may suggest that plunking down $10 across the board on every team besides the Royals may not be a bad move here.

Look, this isn’t about whether I think KC is going to win the Division in 2016, as I think they are still in the Driver’s seat.  But anything can happen from one year to the next.

All of the other Divisions have the 2nd place club with odds greater, so it wouldn’t work.

Seattle has to be thrown back into the mix with the AL West now that they have resigned Hisashi Iwakuma.  At +2500, and with that Pitching Staff, and improved offense, it may be a sleeper team.

As it goes, the Houston Astros are listed as the worst odd to win their Division out of the 6.
